FY 2026 Budget Request

As released on May 2, 2025, the Presidentโ€™s FY2026 Discretionary Budget Request of $3.9 billion for the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) reflects a strategic alignment of resources in a constrained fiscal environment in which NSF prioritizes investments that can have the greatest national impact.

FY 2025 Budget Request

The Presidentโ€™s FY 2025 budget request to Congress includes $10.183 billion for NSF, an increase of 3.1% over the FY 2023 total budget.

FY 2024 Current Plan

NSF's FY 2024 enacted budget is $9.06 billion, a decrease of $479.01 million, or 5.0%, below the FY 2023 base appropriation.
