Fall 2023

 

On November 27, 2023, Dr. Dan Reed, Chair of the National Science Board (Board) transmitted the Office of the Inspector General Semiannual Report (OIG SAR) to Congress from the Inspector General of the National Science Foundation (NSF). The OIG SAR, which includes tables, covers the activities of the Inspector General’s office from April 1, 2023, through September 30, 2023.

Following its review, the Board also transmitted the NSF Management Response to the OIG SAR, with tables.

The OIG SAR and Management Response are provided to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

Spring 2023

 

On May 26, 2023, Dr. Dan Reed, Chair of the National Science Board (Board) transmitted the Office of the Inspector General Semiannual Report (OIG SAR) to Congress from the Inspector General of the National Science Foundation (NSF). The OIG SAR, which includes tables, covers the activities of the Inspector General’s office from October 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023.

The Board also transmitted the NSF Management Response to the OIG SAR, with tables.

The OIG SAR and Management Response are provided to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

On November 24, 2021, Dr. Ellen Ochoa, Chair of the National Science Board (Board) transmitted the Office of the Inspector General Semiannual Report (OIG SAR) to Congress from the Inspector General of the National Science Foundation (NSF). The OIG SAR, which includes tables, covers the activities of the Inspector General’s office from April 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021.

Following its review and approval, the Board also transmitted the NSF Management Response to the OIG SAR, with tables.

The OIG SAR and Management Response are provided to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

The OIG SAR, which includes tables, covers the activities of the Inspector General’s office from April 1, 2017 through September 30, 2017.

Following its review and approval, the Board also transmitted the NSF Management Response, with tables, to the OIG SAR.

The OIG SAR and Management Response are provided to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

On May 31, 2017, Dr. Maria Zuber, Chair of the National Science Board (Board) transmitted the OIG Semiannual Report to Congress from the Inspector General of the National Science Foundation. The Report covers the activities of the Inspector General’s office from October 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017.

Following its review and approval, the Board also transmitted the NSF Management Response to the OIG Report and Tables.

The Report, Response, and Tables are provided to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

Fall 2016

On November 30, 2016, Dr. Maria Zuber, Chair of the National Science Board (Board) transmitted the OIG Semiannual Report to Congress from the Inspector General of the National Science Foundation. The Report covers the activities of the Inspector General’s office from April 1, 2016 through September 30, 2016.

The Board also transmitted the NSF Management Response to the OIG Report and Tables regarding final actions on audits that were prepared by NSF management and reviewed by the Board.

The Report, Response, and Tables are provided to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

Spring 2016

On May 31, 2016, Dr. Maria Zuber, Chair of the National Science Board (Board) transmitted the OIG Semiannual Report to Congress from the Inspector General of the National Science Foundation. The Report covers the activities of the Inspector General’s office from October 1, 2015 through March 31, 2016.

The Board also transmitted the NSF Management Response to the OIG Report and Tables regarding final actions on audits that were prepared by NSF management and reviewed by the Board.

The Report, Response, and Tables are provided to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

Fall 2015

On December 1, 2015, Dr. Dan Arvizu, Chair of the National Science Board (Board) transmitted the OIG Semiannual Report to the Congress from the National Science Foundation’s Inspector General, which covered the activities of the Inspector General’s office from April 1, 2015 through September 30, 2015.

Also provided were reports on final actions on audits that were prepared by NSF management and reviewed by the Board, as required by the Inspector General Act of 1978, and a narrative response to the OIG semiannual report prepared by NSF management and reviewed by the Board.

This information and a cover letter were transmitted separately to both the Chair and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
