Slide Title: NSF Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education (GK-12)

Slide Words:
GK-12 supports STEM graduate students for two years as part of larger partnerships between local school districts and graduate institutions.
25 partnerships are supported each year; five-year awards provide up to $600K annually.
The program places graduate students directly in K-12 classrooms. K-12 teachers and students are exposed to science while graduate students enhance teaching and communication skills.
Since 1999, GK-12 has provided support for more than 5,000 graduate students.
