Slide Words: A New Window on the Universe
Gravitational waves provide a new way to view the dynamics of the universe
Slide Images: The slide shows seven images. The first five show different ways of viewing the universe: Visible, Infrared, COBE (Cosmic Background Explorer), Gamma Ray, GRBs. Each of these has opened up a new dimension of the universe and gravitational waves may be the next window.
The sixth image is an oval with “GWs ???” typed into it, indicating that we do not know what images from gravitational waves will look like. The seventh image at top right is an illustration of a black hole created by a pattern of dots connected by thin lines.
