NSF/AGS Mid-March Update - Upcoming Office Hours and more

March 16, 2022

Colleagues,

A quick reminder - the first of our two NSF/AGS Virtual Office Hours focused on Non-R1 Academic Institutions is scheduled for this afternoon, Wednesday, March 16th.  We are still accepting registration for both events.  Registration in advance is helpful so that we can further tailor the content to the audience, but you are able to register at any point prior to the event.

To broaden participation in AGS programs and solicitations, AGS will host two Virtual Office Hours (VOHs) in March 2022 that are focused on Non-R1 Academic Institutions (e.g., Community Colleges, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Undergraduate, Masters, and R2 Institutions). We will discuss a variety of topics related to NSF processes geared toward scientists, staff, and administrators (e.g., members of the Sponsored Research Office) at these institutions. The VOHs will include opportunities for AGS Program Officers and NSF Grants Officers to answer questions and listen to community input. The VOHs are during:

    • 16 March 2022 (Wednesday), 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Eastern Time
    • 24 March 2022 (Thursday), 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time

Please register to attend either (or both) of these VOHs using this link: https://nsf.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJItf-mupzMiGoV4-SKxQ7kQuUfBUBxpXos

New or Updated Solicitations of note for the AGS community:

  • Pathways to Enable Open-Source Ecosystems (POSE) – NSF 22-572 - The expected outcomes of POSE are (1) to grow the community of researchers who develop and contribute to Open-Source Ecosystem (OSE) efforts, and (2) to enable pathways for the development of collaborative OSEs that could lead to new technology products or services that have broad societal impacts.  A webinar is scheduled for March 23rd, 2022 at 3:30pm eastern.  Please register here:  https://nsf.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_GDUveT2ZTBG4c-tNxaODoA
    • Phase I – Scoping Proposals (<$300k), due May 12th
    • Phase II – Development Grants (<$1.5M), due Oct. 21st

Thank you and please feel free to disseminate widely.

Regards,
