Antarctic Engineering and Science Support Contract Resource Library

Welcome to the Antarctic Engineering and Science Support Contract (ASESC) Resource Library and thank you for your interest in partnering with the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). The U.S. Antarctic Program (USAP) advances science at the frontiers of disciplines ranging from astronomy to zoology and maintains U.S. global leadership in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.

The following information supports the Request for Information: Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (USAP_RFI_02). The successful ASESC contractor will work closely with the NSF Office of Polar Programs to continue USAP's history of scientific achievement.

NSF has the following objectives for this acquisition.

  • We are looking for a partner to enable a world-class Antarctic science program with seamless integration between operations and research support.
  • We seek innovation that will keep USAP at the cutting edge of working in Antarctica.
  • USAP has a complex mission that requires world-class expertise in information, operations and logistics.
  • USAP is undergoing significant upgrades to facility and research infrastructure; a track record of project delivery is a must.
  • Safety is paramount as is a work environment that is free of harassment.
  • Diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of NSF and USAP priorities, as is having a strong anti-harassment/assault policy.

Below are key milestones for the acquisition. These are provided for informational purposes only; all dates are subject to change.

  • Draft RFP — Fiscal Year 2024, Quarter 2
  • Final RFP — FY 2024, Quarter 3
  • Limited Extent Site Visit — FY 2025, Quarter 1
