Second NSF Workshop on achieving ultra-low latencies in wireless networks for emerging applications

About the series

Wireless networks have become a ubiquitous part of everyday life all around the world. Yet, wireless networks are very unpredictable on one critical aspect: communication delay. The issue of unpredictable and often high latencies precludes wireless networks from being used in mission-critical environments. Emerging applications, such as tele-surgery, virtual reality, advanced manufacturing and robotics cannot achieve scale without solving the issue of unpredictable nature of these delays. This second workshop in the series aims to tackle these application-specific challenges and identify pathways and the technical advances needed to remedy this problem.
