Mapping data is a powerful way to shed new light on problems like the potentially devastating effects of climate change on food crop yields in some parts of the world and to explain the results to policymakers and the public. The GABBs is developing a Web-based system that can make it easier even for non-experts to map interactions between layers of datasets covering almost anything that can be located on a map, from crop yields and local population densities to regional weather and the flow of trade across national borders.
