This project will fund the participation of indigenous and academic scholars from the US in a workshop focusing on the research of northern scholars from Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and Russia - "Reversing Knowledge Shift in the North?"
This is a four-day workshop on support and preservation of indigenous languages and traditional ecological knowledge research, documentation, and community education and outreach. The workshop will bring together northern specialist, indigenous and non-indigenous scholars, to share their expertise in the area of language and knowledge as well as focusing on practical steps for coping with social and cultural transition in northern communities.
