Job Opportunity: Division Director, Astronomical Sciences

NSF is seeking candidates for division director of the Division of Astronomical Sciences. The division is located within NSF's Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

Position Summary:

The division director leads a team of program officers and administrative personnel to help meet the needs and objectives of the Division of Astronomical Sciences (AST). These functions may include effective resource and staff management, securing funding, providing justification for budgetary estimates, strategic planning and policy-setting. This position will oversee a broad portfolio of research and education investments while assessing overall trends in those fields. The division director will oversee the evaluation and decision process for proposals and awards, as well as foster partnerships internally across the directorate and externally withfederal agencies, academic communities, and scientific organizations. Education at the Ph.D. level is strongly preferred, though candidates with a combination of relevant education and experience are also invited to apply.
