NSF and DOE announce partnership for science and engineering research

Technicians installing solar panels

NSF invests in research and education across science and engineering fields to advance clean energy. Collaboration between NSF and the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy will speed the transfer of new discoveries and innovation and grow the U.S. workforce for a sustainable energy future.

Here, Madison College graduate Mike Reuter (in blue helmet) leads a solar panel installation crew for a renewable energy program sponsored by the Center for Renewable Energy Advanced Technological Education located at the Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin. With a focus on two-year Institutions of Higher Education, NSF's Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program supports the education of technicians for the high-technology fields that drive our nation's economy.
