Biography:

Ms. Robyn Daniels is a Grant, Contract and Cost Analyst, in the Cost Analysis and Audit Resolution Branch, Division of Institution and Award Support, within the Foundation's Office of Budget, Finance, and Award Management. Ms. Daniels returned to NSF in June 2007 to assume this position which involves financial review and cost analysis. Ms. Daniels earlier NSF career, from 1992 to 2003, saw her engaged in increasing responsibilities ranging from Program Assistant to Management and Program Analyst within the Directorates for Geosciences and Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences.

From 2003 to 2007, Ms. Daniels worked within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) where she gained increasing experience in programs, grants administration, and financial oversight. Over the 2004-2007 period, she served as a Grants Management Specialist for the Health Services Branch, Division of Grants Management Operations, within the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). There, Ms. Daniels was responsible for a portfolio of over 100 grants made to health centers for profit and non-profit organizations, hospitals, universities and colleges across four geographic regions. She participated in overall financial assessment of grantee organizations collaborating with the Office of Performance Review and participated in local site visits.

During the time from 2003-2004, Ms. Daniels efforts were divided between two other DHHS organizations. She served as a Financial Integrity Specialist in the Office of Financial Policy and Oversight, Division of Financial Integrity, where she conducted pre-award reviews and financial assessments for new grantees. Just prior to that, she served as a Project Officer, Health Career Opportunities Program (HCOP), within the Division of Health Careers Diversity and Development, Bureau of Health Professions. Here, Ms. Daniels assisted in developing guidance materials for Institutional Commitment and Cultural Competence sections and served as an ad hoc panelist for the American Indian/Alaskan Native Supplement Objective Review Committee, analyzing applications related to HIV treatments to those underserved populations.

Ms. Daniels has a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management Administration from the University of Maryland and maintains her Certified Grant Management Specialist creditials (CGMS).
