Beth A. Strausser


Biography:

Ms. Strausser is a Senior Policy Specialist, Policy Office, Division of Institution and Award Support, within the Foundation's Office of Budget, Finance, and Award Management. Beth is responsible for policy formulation and implementation and also conducts various outreach meetings for public and private sector research and grants administration officials. As part of her on-going duties, she provides subject-matter expertise and guidance to NSF program and administrative officials, grants and agreements officers, and external stakeholders on policy questions involving complex or high-level issues.  Ms. Strausser is involved in the design and beta-testing of many of the Foundation's internal and external electronic proposal and award systems and is recognized internally and externally in the research community as a technical expert in NSF policies and procedures.

 Prior to her tenure in the Policy Office, Ms. Strausser was a Grants Officer in the NSF Division of Grants and Agreements where she negotiated, evaluated and managed high-profile, complex grants and cooperative agreements. Beth has been a member of the Policy Office team since 1998 and has worked at NSF since 1991. 

Ms. Strausser has a Masters of Public Administration from American University, an A.B. in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College, and has completed coursework at the University of Surrey in England. Beth is a past Board Member of the National Grants Management Association and has received NSF Director's awards for Program Management Excellence; Administrative Excellence; Collaborative Integration; Superior Accomplishment; and Achievement in Equal Opportunity/Diversity and Inclusion.
