ANTARCTIC JOURNAL OF THE UNITED STATES
Table of contents for the March 1993 quarterly issue
Volume XXVIII--Numbers 1

By Presidential directive, the National Science Foundation
(NSF) is
responsible for budgeting and managing U.S. activities in
Antarctica.
As part of these responsibilities, NSF's Office of Polar
Programs
publishes the ANTARCTIC JOURNAL OF THE UNITED STATES
quarterly (March,
June, September, and December) with a fifth annual review
issue. The
journal, established in 1966, reports on U.S. research and
activities in
Antarctica, related activities elsewhere, and on trends in
the U.S.
Antarctic Program.

NSF distributes copies to researchers and others who are
directly
involved in the U.S. Antarctic Program; however, the journal
also is
sold by the copy or on subscription through the U.S.
Government Printing
Office. Requests for prices of individual issues and
subscription
matters should be sent to the Superintendent of Documents,
U.S.
Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C. 20402. Sample
copies may
be obtained through NSF's Forms and Publications Unit (e-
mail orders--
PUBS@NSF.GOV; voice mail--202/357-7861). When requesting
issues
published before December 1992, please cite the volume and
issue number;
for December 1992 and after, requestors should use the NSF
publication
number (e.g., NSF 92-138). For further information
concerning the
ANTARCTIC JOURNAL, inquiries should be directed to the
Writer/Editor,
ANTARCTIC JOURNAL, Polar Coordination and Information
Section, Office
of Polar Programs, National Science Foundation, Washington,
D.C. 20550
(202/357-7817).

The table of contents for the March 1993 quarterly issue of
