Image: DNA Sequencing Screen
Caption: In the foreground of this image is the plant Arabidopsis thaliana, the subject of an international genome-sequencing project that was successfully completed in the year 2000. The DNA-sequencing screen in the background produces the images that allow researchers to see nucleic acid sequences. Each color represents one of the four base chemicals that make up DNA – A (adenine), G (guanine), C (cytosine), and T (thymine).
