NSF/AGS September Update - P4CLIMATE, GRFP and MRI

P4CLIMATE Office Hours:

The NSF GEO-wide P4CLIMATE (Paleo Perspectives of Present and Projected Climate) program will host 2 virtual office hours on Tuesday September 20th and Wednesday September 28th from 2:00-5:00 PM EDT.  P4CLIMATE program directors will present a brief overview of this new solicitation and will be available to answer solicitation-specific questions, such as expectations for the research themes and topics supported by P4CLIMATE.  Registration is required in advance for this meeting: https://nsf.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_YE5e02_PQmCfRUQgCEw1bA

GRFP Reviewer Opportunity:

With the new Graduate Research Fellowships Program (GRFP) solicitation out, GRFP is recruiting reviewers to evaluate the current competition’s applications during the annual GRFP review process. Please register to be considered as a reviewer at NSFGRFPReviewers.orgGRFP offers training to all reviewers via Reviewer webinars with schedule listed on the nsfgrfp.orgwebsite under Upcoming Events. Serving as a GRFP Reviewer is an excellent opportunity to apply your research and career expertise to help identify future science and engineering leaders, and to gain valuable perspective to share with faculty and students at your institution.

MRI Cost-Sharing Waiver:

The CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (P.L. 117-167) Section 10320 removes cost-sharing requirements for the Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program for a period of 5 years.
