Apply to MCB’s Core Solicitation – No Deadlines
January 6, 2020
The Division of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences: Investigator-initiated research projects (MCB) (NSF 18-585) has no deadlines. Applications are accepted at any time in each of MCB’s four clusters:
- Cellular Dynamics and Function,
- Genetic Mechanisms,
- Molecular Biophysics, and
- Systems and Synthetic Biology.
In addition, proposals are accepted in the Rules of Life track for proposals that integrate across scales of biological organization and cross boundaries of divisions within the Biological Sciences. There are no limits to the number of proposals a PI can submit to the MCB Core Solicitation. For full details including funding priorities, program requirements, and contact information see the solicitation.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering. In fiscal year (FY) 2020, its budget is $8.3 billion. NSF funds reach all 50 states through grants to nearly 2,000 colleges, universities and other institutions. Each year, NSF receives more than 50,000 competitive proposals for funding and makes about 12,000 new funding awards.
