CRISPR tames the wild groundcherry

However, several characteristics make them unsuitable for large-scale agriculture. Boyce Thompson Institute associate professor Joyce Van Eck and colleagues present research in the recent edition of Nature Plants that could change that and make groundcherries a common household name thanks to the genome editing tool CRISPR.
