New Stamps Honor Four Distinguished American Scientists

Four American scientists will be honored on "Forever" stamps issued by the U.S. Postal Service during a ceremony on June 16 at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul. The scientists are: chemist Melvin Calvin; botanist Asa Gray; physicist Maria Goeppert Mayer; and biochemist Severo Ochoa. Calvin, who won the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1961, and Ochoa, Nobel laureate in physiology or medicine in 1959, received support from NSF. Full Story
