Leo Chan and a graduate student sample benthic algae in reefs off the coast of Hong Kong. Sampling benthic algae in coral reefs across regions will provide a unique comparative dataset on the influence of environmental variables on the biological and chemical diversity of epiphytic dinoflagellates. Principal investigator Alison Robertson and her team from the University of South Alabama and the Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium will conduct this research.
