Frontier biotech research on display at 2014 BIO Innovation Zone

Twenty-four small businesses funded by the National Science Foundation with innovative biomedical technologies based on fundamental research will be showcased in the Innovation Zone at the 2014 BIO International Convention, the largest gathering of the biotechnology industry in the world.

The companies span a broad portfolio of fundamental scientific and engineering research headed for commercialization. One of the companies, PhylloTech LLC (image shown here), develops new techniques for the sustainable production of high-value proteins in plants and the environmentally friendly control of agricultural pathogens.
