Bement Visit to NSCL (Image 1)

Dr. Arden Bement, Director, National Science Foundation, visits the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) at Michigan State University (MSU), Oct. 26, 2006.

The purpose of Bement's visit was to award the NSCL at MSU more than $100 million to fund operations through the year 2011, thus highlighting the lab's status as a world-leading nuclear science facility. Bement talked about the mission of NSF and the state of science and science education in the United States, and explained why science is a good investment.
