Wind Turbine
A wind turbine.
This image is from a National Science Foundation-supported project to explore a framework for the dynamic data-driven fault diagnosis of wind turbines, the goal of which is to make wind energy a competitive alternative in the energy market. The research--a collaborative effort between Yu Ding of Texas A&M University (under grant 05-40132) and Jiong Tang of the University of Connecticut (under NSF grant ENG 05-40278)--will address the needs in developing a reliable, robust diagnosis system for wind turbines, both for promoting clean energy applications and for scientific exploration.
