Shimon: Now a singing, songwriting robot
The NSF-funded research team behind Shimon trained the robot on 50,000 sets of lyrics from jazz to progressive rock to hip-hop. Machine learning and deep learning enable Shimon to come up with lyrics and contribute to the melodies. And, yes, it is Shimon’s own voice. Shimon was originally developed with support from the National Science Foundation Cyber-Human Systems program, grants #0713269 and #1017169.
