SBE Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (SPRF)
Important Notice
Per the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG), proposers should allow up to six months for programmatic review and processing (following the deadline). In addition, proposers should be aware that the NSF Division of Grants and Agreements generally makes awards within 30 days after the program division/office makes its recommendation.
SBE Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (SPRF) proposers must first register for an NSF account and add an Investigator role in Research.gov to work on proposals in NSF systems. Please see the Account Management Guide "Add a New Role – Unaffiliated/Postdoctoral Fellowship Principal Investigator" section (pages 21-23) for step-by-step instructions. Proposals in response to Program Solicitation NSF 18-584 from Unaffiliated/Postdoctoral Fellowship Investigators MUST be prepared and submitted in FastLane and cannot be submitted in Research.gov.

Solicitation 18-584Important Information for Proposers
A revised version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 20-1), is effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after June 1, 2020. Please be advised that, depending on the specified due date, the guidelines contained in NSF 20-1 may apply to proposals submitted in response to this funding opportunity.

SYNOPSIS
The Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) offers Postdoctoral Research Fellowships to encourage independence early in the Fellow's career through supporting his or her research and training goals. The research and training plan of each Fellowship must address important scientific questions within the scope of the SBE Directorate and the specific guidelines in this solicitation. The SPRF program offers two tracks: (I) Fundamental Research in the SBE Sciences (SPRF-FR) and (II) Broadening Participation in the SBE Sciences (SPRF-BP).
