On Friday, October 23, 2015, from 2:30 to 4:00 pm Eastern time, the NSF Office of Emerging Frontiers and Multidisciplinary Activities (EFMA) will host a webinar to discuss the FY 2016 solicitation for the Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation program (EFRI).
EFRI investigators pursue cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research with the potential for transformative impacts on national needs and grand challenges.
The FY 2016 EFRI solicitation (16-502) calls for proposals in two topic areas:
- TOPIC 1: Advancing Communication Quantum Information Research in Engineering (ACQUIRE)
- TOPIC 2: New Light and Acoustic Wave Propagation: Breaking Reciprocity and Time-Reversal Symmetry (NewLAW)
During this webinar, potential proposers to the program will be able to ask questions about the new solicitation and learn more about EFRI.

The Office of Emerging Frontiers and Multidisciplinary Activities (EFMA) strategically supports projects in important emerging areas in a timely manner, including projects for its signature activity, EFRI. Established in fiscal year 2015, the office also provides support to multidisciplinary education programs and facilities.
