Fiscal Year 2001 Appropriation

The final budget action of the 106th Congress, signed into law by the president on December 21, 2001, included a $1 billion across-the-board cut in 12 of the 13 appropriations bills. For the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), this amounts to a $9.74 million, or 0.22%, reduction in its $4.426 billion appropriation.
