for Engineering Advisory Committee
WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the web page for the Directorate for Engineering Advisory
Committee (AdCom). The purpose of the AdCom is to advise the Directorate
for Engineering (ENG) on such issues as:
- How ENG's mission, programs, and goals can best serve the community;
- Important issues in institutional administration and policy;
- How ENG can promote quality graduate and undergraduate education
in engineering;
- Priority investment areas in engineering research; and
- Government Performance and Results Act, including Committees
of Visitors.
The AdCom meets twice a year. Members represent a cross section
of engineering, science, and education with representatives from
many different subdisciplines within the field; a cross section
of institutions including industry; broad geographic representation;
and balanced representation of women and under-represented minorities.
We believe that this diversity allows the Adcom to encompass as
many perspectives in engineering as possible.
