The numbers of S&E and non-S&E doctorates earned by U.S. citizens and permanent residents with disabilities fluctuated within a relatively narrow range from 1997 to 2007.

  • U.S. citizens and permanent residents with disabilities earned 304 S&E doctorates and 312 non-S&E doctorates in 2007, up from 276 and 295, respectively, in 1997.
  • Persons with disabilities earned approximately 2% of S&E and 3% of non-S&E doctorates awarded to U.S. citizens and permanent residents in 2007.
