Underrepresented minorities (blacks, Hispanics, American Indians/Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians/other Pacific Islanders) were a similar percentage of scientists and engineers who were business or industry managers as they were of all scientists and engineers employed in business or industry in 2006.

• Underrepresented minorities were 10% of all scientists and engineers in business or industry in 2006, 7% of top-level managers, and 6%–13% of managers in most fields.
• They were a higher percentage (20%) of managers in natural sciences.
