Women accounted for a rising share of postdocs in all fields except computer sciences and in 2006 represented one-third of all S&E postdocs, up from 29% in 1996.
- More than half (53%) of psychology postdocs, 46% of social sciences postdocs, and 41% of biological sciences postdocs were women.
- Fewer than 25% of postdocs in computer sciences, engineering, mathematics, and physical sciences were women.
