This report replaces Federal Science and Engineering Support to Universities, Colleges, and Nonprofit Institutions: FY 2007 (NSF 09-315) released in September 2009. After the close of the FY 2007 survey cycle, the Department of Defense (DOD) discovered a programming error that was made during the FY 2005–07 survey cycles and caused each advanced technology development dollar to be reported twice, as advanced technology development and also as major systems development. These detailed statistical tables contain corrected DOD data for FY 2005–07 and the most up-to-date data for all agencies. Users are advised to use the data reported here, rather than the previously released statistics.
