NSF OIG Office of Investigations and the Recovery Act

The OIG's Office of Investigations' Recovery Act efforts focus on assessing and investigating allegations of wrongdoing involving NSF awards funded under the Recovery Act. In addition to the criminal, civil, and administrative violations that arise under routine NSF funding, the Recovery Act prohibits retaliation against whistleblowers and requires allegations of retaliation to be reported to our office for investigation.

We encourage Recovery Act awardees, and their employees and anyone with information, to click here to notify OIG of any significant problems relating to the misuse of NSF funds -- including Recovery Act funds -- because it significantly increases our ability to conduct investigations and possibly recover funds for NSF. Any employee of an NSF Recovery Act awardee who suffers retaliation for disclosing information about misuse of Recovery Act funds should click here to report this retaliation to OIG.

For more information, please feel free to contact us at oig@nsf.gov or at 703-292-7100.
