The National Science Board (NSB) will hold one of its regularly scheduled meetings related to national science and engineering policy issues and activities of the National Science Foundation (NSF), from March 29-30, 2007, at NSF headquarters in Arlington, Va. NSF is located at 9th and Stuart Streets (Ballston Metro stop).
Media representatives are invited to attend all open sessions, subject to provisions of the Government in the Sunshine Act. All meetings will take place in room 1235, unless otherwise noted. The full meeting agenda is available at: http://www.nsf.gov/nsb/meetings/2007/0329/index.htm.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering. In fiscal year (FY) 2015, its budget is $7.3 billion. NSF funds reach all 50 states through grants to nearly 2,000 colleges, universities and other institutions. Each year, NSF receives about 48,000 competitive proposals for funding, and makes about 11,000 new funding awards. NSF also awards about $626 million in professional and service contracts yearly.
