Self-assembling Polymer Arrays Improve Data Storage Potential

The ability to shrink devices by using the same types of lithographic materials, tools and strategies is reaching technical limits. A new technique, reported in the August 15 issue of Science, involves novel self-assembling block copolymers, demonstrating a patterning technology that may revolutionize the field. The new technique offers performance improvements over existing methods, while reducing the time and cost of manufacturing.Full Story
