Philippa Gill

Assistant Professor Philippa Gill in the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University is one of this year's SaTC awardees. Gill's research looks at how nations repurpose Internet protocols and network management products for information control.

Protecting cyberspace requires a cybersecurity workforce that can rapidly detect and respond to threats and create ways to thwart attacks by design before they occur. NSF has helped to train thousands of cybersecurity workers, but many more are needed by government and industry.
