Farnam Jahanian, the NSF assistant director who heads the Computer and Information Science and Engineering directorate, and Masao Sakauchi, president of the Japan National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), met at NSF last week to announce the first round of awards provided through the Japan-US Network Opportunity (JUNO) program.
