Glucose molecules 'dance' on sensor surface illuminated by light

This schematic of a biochip shows glucose molecules "dancing" on a sensor surface illuminated by colored light. Changes in light intensity, transmitted through the slit of each plasmonic interferometer, yield information about the concentration of glucose molecules in a solution.
