The NSF-funded TeraGrid program connects the computational resources of 11 supercomputer centers.
The TeraGrid project is funded by the National Science Foundation and includes 11 partners: Indiana, LONI (Louisiana Optical Network Initiative), National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (NCSA), Joint Institute for Computational Sciences (JICS), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC), Purdue, San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) and University of Chicago/Argonne National Laboratory (UC/ANL). ORNL Joint Institute for Computational Sciences (JICS) leads a partnership to empower and prepare the U.S. academic research community for sustained petascale science and engineering. With the new near-petascale computer, to be housed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the State of Tennessee will have two of the world's most powerful computers.
