2016 CAREER Proposal Writing Webinar
On April 27, CBET will host its second CAREER Proposal Writing Webinar to discuss best practices regarding the development and submission of CAREER proposals. Topics will include:
- guidelines and eligibility;
- proposal preparation guidance;
- recommendations for integration of research, education and outreach into a CAREER proposal; and
- insight into proposal review.
The webinar will also feature a live question–answer session with program officers.

Please take note of a new funding opportunity for FY 2016 seeking EArly-Concept Grants for Exploratory Research (EAGER) proposals on Advanced Cellular Biomanufacturing. Please see Dear Colleague Letter: Advanced Cellular Biomanufacturing (NSF 16-053) for more details. Proposals are due June 1, 2016.
Submission Window and Important Proposal Info
The next CBET unsolicited proposal window will be:
October 1 - October 20, 2016
October 1 - October 20, Annually Thereafter
Unsolicited proposals received outside of the announced proposal window dates will be returned without review. Proposals that are not compliant with the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) will also be returned without review. CBET applicants are encouraged to read the Dear Colleague Letter on Automated Compliance Checking and Proposal Submission (NSF 15-095).
Proposals that are duplicates of, or substantially similar to, a proposal already under consideration by NSF from the same submitter are subject to return without review. This policy also applies to proposals that were previously reviewed and declined and have not been substantially revised, as well as to duplicates of other proposals that were already awarded.
